NEW! John Jay Up Close: Music Special (Spring 2009)
Enjoy interviews and performances with a variety of musical talent within the district. Mr. Fred Von Helms interviews Mr. Steve Morse, K-12 Instructional Leader at the Secondary Level, Director of Orchestral Studies John Jay Chorale and JJ Vocal Jazz. The JJHS Vocal Jazz Ensemble performs "Words" by Anders Edenroth. JJHS singer/songwriter Emilie Schattman is interviewed and performs two songs. JJMS jazz flutist & classical flautist Rachel Rodgers is interviewed and performs. (60 minutes) Click here to watch the video.

Ms. Lauren Carrigan, John Jay High School Librarian, Receives Gift of Art Resources from National Endowment for the HumanitiesMs. Lauren Carrigan, the John Jay High School Librarian, applied for, received and is distributing a collection of 40 high-quality poster-size reproductions of notable American art for use in the library and in classrooms throughout the high school via a new program called “Picturing America,” from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) in cooperation with the American Library Association (ALA).
