John Jay's robots rocked the FIRST Tech Challenge Regional Qualifier, which was held at John Jay High School in Hopewell Junction, NY, on December 7, and one team, The MOB, is already headed to States!
“Congratulations to all our teams for showing that John Jay builds world-class robots!” said John Jay’s robotics teacher Jonathan Peter.
“All of our teams performed amazingly, with two advancing to the finals,” said Peter. “In the end, The MOB dominated the competition, going undefeated through the finals bracket, easily qualifying for the state championship. While doing so, they set an astonishing state record, and won the Innovate Award!”
“We were able to create new bonds and start great partnerships and friendships with other teams,” said members of The MOB on Instagram. They thanked their classmates, who formed John Jay’s other robotics teams. “We are so proud of you all and your performances yesterday.”
There are two additional regional qualifiers coming up, Peter noted, giving additional opportunities for John Jay's teams to advance. “We had a great time and seemingly every robotics student is eager to edit- refresh-refine their robot and do it again. We’ll hit the ground running and it'll be a busy few weeks as we try to harness this lightning!”
