DWI simulator

Thank you to the Westchester County Police Department, School Resource Officer Brett Schlosser and STOP DWI for bringing the Westchester County Police DWI Simulator to John Jay’s campus today - and helping students stay informed and safe.

The interactive simulator offers students the opportunity to experience the real-world challenges of impaired driving in a safe, educational setting.

“Students experienced what it is like driving under the influence of substances, along with other challenges,” said Samantha Wagner, John Jay’s Student Assistance Counselor. She brought health and PE classes to the simulator throughout the day.

Students also learned that December is Impaired Driving Prevention Month; the period between Christmas and New Year’s is one of the most dangerous times on the road, with nearly 40% of traffic fatalities involving an impaired driver.
